On March 26, the Shenandoah Valley Adventist Elementary School (New Market, Va.) Terabot robotics team (pictured below) and Tree of Life Christian Preparatory School (Fredericksburg, Va.) team, The 7 LegoSeas (pictured above), earned awards at the Southern Challenge robotics championship held at Southern Adventist University (Tenn.).
SVAE’s Terabot team earned second place in the project category, first in teamwork, and first in robotic design. TLC’s 7 LegoSeas earned first place in the project category, first in teamwork, and first in robotic design. Since the Terabots and The 7 LegoSeas were in the top six teams they are going to participate in the Adventist Robotics League National Championship begin held at Forest Lake Educational Center (Fla.) on May 6. If the Terabots or The 7 LegoSeas win the national tournament they will become the first team from the Columbia Union to earn this award.
