The Treasury Department serves the Potomac Conference Corporation membership through consistent and accurate accounting and financial management of all conference assets. The Treasury Department supports the Mission to “Grow Healthy, Disciple Making Churches” by assuring wise management of the tithes and offerings so generously given by our faithful members. The Treasury Department is responsible for processing the payroll for all schools and churches, which constitutes over 900 employees. In addition, the Treasury Department assures that all properties (churches and schools) are adequately insured against loss. All entities that make up the Potomac Conference Corporation are audited annually or bi-annually depending on their respective size and/or need.
Vice President for Finance
Dave has an extensive background in pastoral administration and a heart for ministry. Prior to joining the Potomac Conference Corporation, David held the positions of assistant treasurer and treasurer within the Minnesota Conference. He also served as senior pastor at Potomac’s Damascus Grace Fellowship Church for ten years.
As a graduate of Southern College of Seventh-day Adventists, David received his B.B.A. in accounting in 1987 and was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 1989. He started his career at a major accounting firm in the Carolinas, serving as a public accountant from 1987 – 1992.
Undertreasurer
Wirmin Alcantara became the undertreasurer of the Potomac Conference Corporation in March 2017. He previously served as undertreasurer for the Texas Conference and has worked for the church in a number of capacities including the ABC manager in the West Puerto Rico conference, accountant for the Arkansas-Louisiana conference, assistant treasurer and the first human resources director for the Texas conference.
Wirmin holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Antillean Adventist University (Puerto Rico), a Master of Business Administration with concentration in finance and a master’s degree in pastoral ministry from Andrews University (Mich.).

Lauren Walker

Primary responsibilities:
- Assisting the VP for Finance with clerical duties and other departmental associates as needed.
- Receipting monthly church remittances.
- Data entry for payables.
- Coordinating the laptop computer program for pastors.
- Ordering office supplies and helping to support office equipment maintenance.

Daryl Hevener
Associate Treasurer

Daryl holds a Bachelor degree in Accounting from Southern College. He has served the denomination for over 20 years at Shenandoah Valley Academy and now at the Potomac Conference Corporation.
Primary responsibilities:
- Overseeing the A/P functions
- Overseeing the A/R functions of non-tithe dollars
- Handles Estates left to the Conference
- Oversees and maintains the accounting for the Annuity and Revocable Trust Funds
- Instrumental in procuring land and buildings for local churches and schools
- Facilitates churches and schools in getting loans for building and remodeling projects

Linda Plank

Linda received her degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting from Union College (Lincoln, Neb.). She’s worked in the hospital system for 18 years in a number of accounting related positions.

Modesto Vázquez
Director of Auditing

At the beginning of the June 2017, Modesto Vázquez began as the director of auditing for Potomac. Vázquez has served as the treasurer for the New Jersey Conference since 2006. In his 35-plus years of experience, Vázquez has served as vice president for finance for the Inter-American Division Publication Association and the secretary/treasurer for the Puerto Rican Union of Seventh-day Adventist.

Bob Gainer

Bob Gainer joined the treasury team as an auditor in September 2019. In addition to recent experience as a CFO in private industry, he previously served as Director of Finance/Controller with ADRA International and the Review and Herald Publishing Association, after starting his career working for the General Conference as an accountant and as an auditor with GCAS. Bob holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 1991.

JC Brown
Junior Accountant

JC Brown has a background in non-profit accounting ranging from local ministries to large organizations. He joined the treasury team as a junior accountant for the Potomac Conference Corporation in June 2020. JC holds a B.B.A. in accounting from Southern Adventist University and is working toward his CPA license.
