More than 400 people attended the 6th Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner at Takoma Park Seventh-Day Adventist Church (TPC) in Ta on November 19, 2017. Takoma Park (Md.) Mayor Kate Stewart joined teens from the church’s Incito Youth Ministries Department, serving turkey, macaroni and cheese, green beans, stuffing and more. This yearly event is an opportunity for the community to dine (free of cost) with members of the congregation at festive tables and enjoy a hearty meal, along with numerous desserts. The night also included a clothing giveaway for those bussed in from community shelters.
“Each year, it is a great feeling to give back to those in need and engage with the local Takoma Park community,” stated one of the volunteers. “Just knowing that Christ has done so much more for us, TPC’s Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner is just one more thing we can do each year to share Christ’s love and say thank you.”
