This summer, eight students from Ouachita Hills College distributed Mega Books and canvassed in Wytheville and Galax (Va.) and the surrounding areas.
“Over 3,000 Mega Books were distributed and 113 people requested further services from our churches,” says Darry Campbell, pastor of Galax, Wytheville, Mountain View and New River Valley churches. “This includes 66 requests for Bible studies.”
While one woman perused the selection of Mega Books and saw the titles, she asked one of the students if he was a Seventh-day Adventist. She went on to explain that she had been raised in an Adventist home, but had not attended church in over 30 years. She then stated that, with the current events in the world, she had been feeling the need to reconnect with the church. She purchased all 12 of the Mega Books the student had to offer and promised she would be visiting the church very soon
Another student was working in Galax and met a young man who became very excited as she made her presentation. He asked if she was an Adventist. She confirmed that she was. The man stated that he had been studying about the Sabbath and had been praying, for two weeks, that he could meet an Adventist who would be willing to give him Bible studies. He and a friend attended the Galax church the following Sabbath. “Of course we will be following up with studies him and his studies!” says Campbell. “We have been blessed by the ministry of these young people and will be following up on each contact as we endeavor to accept the challenge to take the Gospel to all the world.”
