Ruben was born in Pennsylvania and grew up in the Northern Virginia/Maryland area. He received his elementary and high school education in local Seventh-day Adventist schools and earned his degree in theology at River Plate Adventist University, in Argentina. He later received a Master of Divinity from Andrews University (Mich.).
While studying in Argentina, Ruben met Silvana Gullón. They married in 2010 and recently became parents to Benjamin. They are now excitedly anticipating the arrival of their second child in December.
After returning from seminary, Ruben received a call from the Potomac Conference to serve in Roanoke, Va.. He pastored a three church district (North Valley, Advent Hope and Rocky Mount) for two years and later transitioned to Northern Virginia where he is part of a mega-district pastoral team.
A love for God and service has led Ruben in his spiritual journey. This is something he has learned and applied since his youth. He attributes this spiritual growth to his upbringing and the obstacles we all face in life. Ruben, in response to Gods call, feels inspired to share, with his generation, God’s love for humanity and Jesus’ soon return!
Ruben will be ordained on July 9 (11am) at the Cornerstone Seventh-day Adventist Church, located in Chantilly, Va.
