We are pleased to welcome several new employees to Potomac’s treasury office staff including Modesto Vásquez, Linda Plank and Wirmin Alcantara as well as Veronique Anderson in our education department.
At the beginning of the June, Modesto Vázquez began as the director of auditing for Potomac. Vázquez has served as the treasurer for the New Jersey Conference since 2006. In his 35-plus years of experience, Vázquez has served as vice president for finance for the Inter-American Division Publication Association and the secretary/treasurer for the Puerto Rican Union of Seventh-day Adventist.
This spring both Linda Plank and Wirmin Alcantara joined the treasury team. As assistant treasurer, Plank focuses on payroll for all Potomac employees. She received her degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting from Union College (Lincoln, Neb.) and has worked in the hospital system for 18 years in a number of accounting related positions.




Alcantara, Potomac’s undertrearsurer since March, most recently served as undertreasurer for the Texas Conference and has worked as the ABC manager in the West Puerto Rico conference, accountant for the Arkansas-Louisiana conference, assistant treasurer and the first human resources director for the Texas conference. Alcantara holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Antillean Adventist University (Puerto Rico), a Master of Business Administration with concentration in finance, and is working on his master’s in pastoral ministry from Andrews University (Mich.).
On July 1, Veronique Anderson will begin serving as the associate superintendent for instructional strategies for the education department. Anderson has more than 13 years of teaching experience at the elementary level, six years at the higher education level and ten years of experience in speech language pathology and special education. She holds a doctorate in educational leadership as well as a master’s in speech language pathology. Her most recent assignment was as principal of Sligo Adventist School (Takoma Park, Md).
