Konnarock Seventh-day Adventist Church (Damascus,Va.) members hosted their 2nd annual Spiritual Renewal Weekend and celebrated the 20th anniversary in their current location. Members from surrounding Adventist churches in the area were invited to attend this special weekend. “We felt blessed to have so many to celebrate with,” said Crystal Stamper, communications director at the Konnarock church.
Speakers included Pastor Dan Schafer and Eric Huffman. Both spoke on the theme ‘20 Years Closer’, which focused on what the journey means. The programs over the weekend included many musical numbers and testimonies from several members and their journey over the past 20 plus years in our church. “The weekend provided a time of fellowship with church family and visitors, and being renewed in our walk with Jesus,” explained Stamper. “We also had programing for the younger members. The children learned about Jesus through songs, activities, crafts and Bible stories. Each learning about being on God’s Team and what it means when He has a special job for us individually and as a team, whether we are an adult or a child.”
Former pastors joined in the anniversary celebration and helped share the history of the Adventist church in Konnarock. “We closed the weekend with a fellowship meal, after singing ‘What a Day That Will Be,’ as we focus on being ’20 Years Closer’ to the coming of our Lord and our Eternal Home.”
