Impact2017 Kicks off with 500 Attendees in Southern Virginia

About 500 from the southern region of Potomac gathered at Camp HopeTree Retreat and Conference Center in Blue Ridge, Va. for the first ever Impact meeting. This year, marks the beginning of the revamped camp meeting format that features regional meetings planned by local pastors and members and a general Impact meeting for all Potomac members once every five years. Two more Impact meetings will be held this month. “The blue ribbon committee has been focused on finding ways to preserve and grow the celebration of mission and sense of connection events like this bring,” says President Bill Miller.

This Impact meeting featured Mike Tucker from Faith for Today Television, the oldest religious television broadcast in the world, as the guest speaker. Tucker focused on heartfelt messages of God’s grace and love as well as the courage found in trusting our Savior. Kids and teen programs were also provided throughout the weekend.

“Our family received a wonderful blessing from attending this event,” said attendee Bridget Shull. The adult and children’s programs were wonderful and the food was outstanding! We also enjoyed staying in the cabins and exploring the beautiful nature around camp. Thanks to all involved for an amazing campmeeting experience!”

On Saturday evening, attendees had the option of staying on site to hear Tucker speak or to attend a Southern Gospel concert by Brian Free & Assurance at the Roanoke church, located about ten minutes away from the camp.

The next Impact 2017 meeting is this weekend, June 17 at the Hylton Memorial Chapel in Woodbridge, Va. With the theme “Seeing through our Father’s eyes,” Wintley Phipps, a world-renowned vocal artist, education activist, motivational speaker, pastor, and CEO and Founder of the U.S. Dream Academy, will be the featured speaker and musical artist. He will speak in the morning and later hold a concert.

Later in the month, a Hispanic Impact meeting will be held in Bel Air, Md. Guest speakers Alejandro Bullón, an evangelist for the Voice of Hope, a radio program based in the North American Division, and Arnaldo Cruz, from the Southeastern Florida Conference, will cover the theme Pentecostes Ahora over the weekend.

Saturday afternoon will feature a concert by singer and songwriter Felipe Garibo. Programs over the weekend will also be provided for children and youth.

More information on all of these events can be found here.
