Each year at pastor / teacher meetings, the Potomac Conference administration recognizes outstanding educators and pastors. This year, the four professionals who received a special appreciation were Carole Smith, head teacher of Roanoke Adventist Preparatory School (Va.), Johnnie Blanton, teacher of Powell Valley school (Va.), Paulasir Abraham, associate pastor of the Southern Asian church (Silver Spring, Md.) and Jonas Baca, pastor of the Metro NoVa Spanish district in Maryland and Virginia.
