Lost and Found – Story from LivingWell

Mike Faison, known as Pastor Mike at LivingWell loves people and loves to meet their needs when they coming in to the store.

Aho Baliki with his found GoBible

Aho smiles as he is reunited with his GoBible.

In mid-October, Pastor Mike was working in the evening when Aho Baliki and his wife came into the store looking to purchase a Bible.  They were visiting the United States from New Guinea for the General Conference Autumn Council meetings.  Aho told Pastor Mike he had lost his GoBible, a portable audio version of the entire Bible, and would be returning home the following Friday. He thought he had left it at the Takoma Park church earlier in the week. Pastor Mike had prayer with Aho and his wife claiming Jeremiah 33:3 which states “Call to me and I will answer you…”

“My wife happened to be attending prayer meeting at the Takoma Park church at that moment,” said Pastor Mike. “So, I asked Joyce if she and the others would look for the Bible after the meeting.” Quickly after the search began, they discovered the GoBible had been collected by a deacon earlier in the week. After a few phone calls later that evening, Mike and Joyce found out where exactly the Bible was being kept in the church and Mike decided to swing by on his way to work the next day.  “No one is usually at the church that early in the morning, but I thought I’d chance it,” said Mike. “I realized what an answer to prayer it was when one of the members, Glen Peterson,  arrived at the same moment to work on the church doors and I was able to retrieve the GoBible for Aho. I was praising God, crying and shouting Hallelujah all the way to LivingWell, knowing I had just witnessed a miracle.”

Aho's name was engraved on his GoBible.

Aho’s name was engraved on his GoBible.

When Aho and his wife came to pick it up, Paul Glenn, LivingWell’s Book & Bible Department Manager offered to engrave Aho’s name on the Bible, so should he lose it in the future, it will be clear to whom it belongs! Aho  and his wife were absolutely beaming as they left LivingWell with the GoBible securely in hand!  And the staff at LivingWell were beaming too!
