Ten people, sponsored by the Potomac Conference and the Southern Asian church (Silver Spring, Md.) went on a mission trip to India to conduct evangelistic series in 12 centers throughout Maharashtra and Gujarat.
“These are some of the most difficult areas to spread the love of Jesus through evangelistic meetings,” said one participant. “Nearly 500 people attended the meetings every night. People came in the hundreds, sat on floors and sang their hearts out in praises to God for over an hour and listened to messages preached for another hour or more along with preliminaries. The meeting each night lasted for three to four hours.”
In all, there were 430 souls added to the Kingdom of God with many more to follow as 35 are still being prepared for baptism. Additionally, two Vacation Bible Schools were conducted. Through these efforts, four new companies have been formed in North Maharashtra.
The North Maharashtra President has expressed how these meetings have infused new energy for the local pastors and elders who have not had such meetings for nearly 15 years. The South Gujarat Region Director expressed that he has worked in that region for 22 years and has never
seen such meetings held in this region due to the threats and persecution of individuals who preach the gospel.
“We thank God for our safety and success,” say those who traveled on this mission. “We thank Potomac Conference and all those who prayed for us. Truly God has done marvelous things. Please continue to keep India in your prayers.”
