Welcome

Telling God's Story

We have a story to tell in Potomac Conference and our primary role within the Department of Communication is to enlist the members and leaders in the task of telling that story together. Not only are we pleased to share the initiatives and priorities of the conference administration, but with over 33,000 members, more than 172 congregations and 20 schools, our greatest joy is to tell the story of the incredible activity of God in the lives of those who are being touched and changed. That's a big job, but it's the best job in the world.

Storytelling in the 21st Century

We use a variety of communication tools to bring these stories to life. The website is fast becoming the primary way in which people learn about, and interact, with organizations. As of January 2010, the Potomac Conference is excited to be moving forward with a new site. Some of the upgrades include a podcenter that will also hold notes and PowerPoint presentations, a Church/School locator utilizing Google Web Maps, and our Forms Center that now allows documents to be filled out and submitted online. Click on the Latest News link and be inspired by ordinary people doing extraordinary things for God.

In addition, the Visitor is the Columbia Union periodical that we use in conjunction with the website to share the stories from around the Potomac Conference. Potomac People is our section within the magazine, and it's a wonderful way to stay in touch with news from around the conference. If you are a member with news or photos to share about action that strengthens the local church and improves the health of our congregations, please email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
