Stephen Wilson, VP for Finance
After graduating from Pacific Union College with a BS in Business Administration/Accounting, Steve started a 25+ year career in senior financial healthcare leadership and consulting. He joined the Potomac Conference in June 2009. Below are his primary responsibilities:
- Serves as a member of the Executive Committee, K-12 Board, SVA Board, TA Board, and Camp Blue Ridge Operating Board.
- Chairs the Operating Board of the Potomac Adventist Book & Health Food Center (include hot link to website here).
- Chairs the Finance Committee of Shenandoah Valley Academy (SVA) and Takoma Academy (TA).
- Provides leadership to help assure financial strength of Conference churches and schools.
- Provides leadership for all Conference Treasury and Trust Service functions and activities.
Steve is married to Kathy (32 years) and has two daughters, a grandson, and granddaughter. He enjoys reading, antique advertising, photography, history, exploring new communities and points of interest/beauty, and spending time with family.

Mary Ann Sheffer, Undertreasurer
Mary Ann holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration/Accounting from Columbia Union College. She has served the Potomac Conference for more than 25 years as Accountant, Assistant Treasurer and Undertreasurer. Her primary responsibilities include:
- Payroll coordinator
- Accounting and Financial Statements
- Manage accounts receivable
Mary Ann is married to Larry and they have two grown daughters, a granddaughter and a grandson.
She enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, ocean vacations, and travel to historical places.

Daryl Hevener, Conference Associate Treasurer & Corporation Treasurer
Daryl holds a Bachelor degree in Accounting from Southern College. He has served the denomination for over 20 years at Shenandoah Valley Academy and now at Potomac Conference. He has served his local church and school in various ways. Below are his primary responsibilities:
- Overseeing the A/P functions
- Overseeing the A/R functions of non-tithe dollars
- Handles Estates left to the Conference
- Oversees and maintains the accounting for the Corporation
- Oversees and maintains the accounting for the Annuity and Revocable Trust Funds
- Instrumental in procuring land and buildings for local churches and schools
- Facilitates churches and schools in getting loans for building and remodeling projects
Daryl is married to Tammy and they have two children. He enjoys sports and playing golf and spending time in Myrtle Beach.

David Anderson, assistant treasurer
David Anderson has served in the Potomac Conference
treasury department for many years. As an ordained minister he has a rich
background in pastoral ministry. David is responsible for assisting
with audits, managing conference insurance programs, church
remittances, and overseeing the maintenance of conference owned
housing.

Luis Alferez, Assistant Treasurer
Luis holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration and a MBA from Andrews University. He joined the Potomac Conference in June 2008. Luis has several years of experience working as a treasurer for his local church and three years as a staff accountant for the Netherlands Antilles Conference. Below are his primary responsibilities:
- Maintains the financial records for the Hispanic Ministries;
- Audits Metro DC Spanish churches; and,
- Provides church accounting software (JEWEL) technical support.
In his free time he enjoys the outdoors and running marathons.

Diana Boyd, Corporation Accountant
After graduating Diana has continued to take different classes in business, accounting, and computers. Before joining the Treasury team at the Potomac Conference she worked for a local Certified Public Accounting firm for over 12 years. She has been the Potomac Conference Corporation accountant for over 20 years and is Trust certified Below are her primary responsibilities:
- Responsible for the Corporation Accounting for the Plant Fund, Revocable Trust and Gift Annuities.
- Processes the teacher, courtesy, Potomac ABC and sub-teacher payrolls.
Diana is married to her wonderful husband (R.W.) and they have two beautiful daughters, two granddaughters and two grandsons whom they enjoy spending time with. She enjoys traveling,
camping and boating.

Charlene Sheffer, Administrative Assistant
Charlene received secretarial training at a local technical center and began working in the public sector just after high school. She has 30+ years of service at Potomac in the Education, Youth Ministries, and Treasury Departments.
Her primary responsibilities include:
- Assisting the VP for Finance with clerical duties and other departmental associates as needed.
- Receipting monthly church remittances.
- Data entry for payables.
- Coordinating the laptop computer program for pastors.
- Ordering office supplies and helping to support office equipment maintenance.
Charlene enjoys music and singing in groups, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family and cats.

Kandyce Hallam, Accounting Clerk
Kandyce is a graduate of Pacific Union College with an AS in Landscaping. Kandyce worked at Auburn Adventist Academy for 14 years as Student Finance and Student Employment director before joining the Treasury team in September of 2009. Below are her primary responsibilities:
- Receipting
- Entering data
- Miscellaneous clerical tasks
Kandyce is married to Keith (going on 28 years). They have a lovely daughter which is a senior at Andrews University, and two handsome sons, one as taskforce dean at SVA and one a sophomore at Walla Walla University. She enjoys being with her family, photography, and outdoor activities.
