Telling God's Story
We have a story to tell in Potomac Conference and our primary role within the Department of Communication is to enlist the members and leaders in the task of telling that story together. Not only are we pleased to share the initiatives and priorities of the conference administration, but with over 33,000 members, more than 172 congregations and 20 schools, our greatest joy is to tell the story of the incredible activity of God in the lives of those who are being touched and changed. That's a big job, but it's the best job in the world.
Storytelling in the 21st Century
We use a variety of communication tools to bring these stories to life. The website is fast becoming the primary way in which people learn about, and interact, with organizations. As of July 2011, the Potomac Conference is excited to be moving forward with Phase 2 of the web site. As you may recall, upgrades to the new website in phase 1 included a front page fader that highlighted upcoming events, a Church/School locator utilizing Google Web Maps, and easy to use buttons to get to your favorite links. In phase 2, we've enhanced to site to include a new photo gallery, a new blog-style front page that will continually update new stories, and a forms section that now has all the forms categorized by department. Our goal is to make our very user friendly, and continually update it with stories that will inspire those who read them.
